Swarlahari Presents a History of Indian Music at Davis Library in Plano

Ripples Through Time – Indian Music Across the Milleniums” produced by Swarlahari School of Music, hosted and sponsored by the Davis Library, Plano was a great success1 This was an hour-long open, edutainment event for the benefit of the local community. Had a nice mix of music depicting the milleniums that have passed since our music was formalized in Samved approx 3500 years ago.

How long is the period of 3500years??  To quote from the prorgram today
“Let’s step back in time for a moment to 44BCE, about 2000years ago… Julius Caesar was appointed the perpetual dictator of the Roman Empire. Recorded history of Indian music begins approximately 1500 years…. before that day.”

Thanks to all our volunteers, students, their parents, our collaborating guest artists, their gurus, and the Davis Library for enaling us to bring this show.
