At the Swarlahari School of Music, we offer Hindustani classical singing classes for students of all ages and skill levels. We help students develop their singing skills, appreciation for Indian classical music and a connection to the rich heritage of India.
At Swarlahari, we believe that music is a powerful tool for personal growth and expression. Anshu strives to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students can develop their musical abilities and connect with others who share their passion for Indian classical music.
At Swarlahari, our group and individual classes are designed to meet the needs of students at all levels of experience
Anshu works closely with each student to develop a customized learning plan tailored to their unique needs and goals, whether in a group class or one-on-one. Using creative and novel methods, she fosters a love of music while providing rigorous training in Hindustani classical singing.
We offer periodic performance opportunities for our students, including recitals, community concerts etc to help them build confidence and showcase their talents.
Each year, the students present a Hindustani music recital for their families and friends. This is one event the entire student community enjoys working for.
Hindustani Music Certification
Swarlahari offers the opportunity for certification for students who are serious about their musical pursuits. Pursuing certification requires a high level of dedication and discipline from both the student and their parents. However, the rewards are significant, both in terms of personal growth and potential college admissions. Anshu is committed to helping our students succeed in this rigorous process
"I was a Swalahari student for around a decade and must say I would not be the singer I am today if it were not for Anshuji. Because of the strong vocal foundation I built from her teaching, so many people appreciate my bhajan singing at the temple. Her patience with students, guiding them through challenges of certain raags and bandishes, is unparalleled. She also has successfully led numerous students to certifications in Hindustani Classical Singing from the Samved Conservatory (madhyam.us). I myself completed the first level."
